First photos of Manila

Forgive the random phone photos, but I'm still getting used to sticking out like a sore thumb and I'm trying my best not to look like a tourist! I'm sure after awhile I'll feel more like a local and then I'll be brave enough to go out with a camera and take some proper photos!
I took most of these photos to give family and friends back home a bit of an idea of what our neighbourhood is like. I was surprised (and happy) to see that the streets are full of leafy green trees, there are lots of little parks around the place and beautiful Christmas lights EVERYWHERE! They're so lovely they'll get a post all of their own in a couple of weeks.

This is the building James works in. He doesn't work for HSBC, there are lots of companies who share the building.

There are lots of pedestrian walkways that go over, under and between the busy roads. This one leads to the mall!

One of the big malls here (there are so many malls!) has these beautiful gardens all throughout. They're all bordered by amazing restaurants with lovely outdoor seating areas.

This pretty park is right next to the temporary accommodation we're staying in. We should be moving in to our new place this weekend!

I don't know what this building is, but I really like it.

This is the stock exchange building. It has a nice big undercover plaza which leads out to Ayala triangle, a lovely park with restaurants along one side. You'll see more of Ayala triangle when I do my post about the Christmas lights!

Very pretty gardens throughout the malls. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Why are the lines on the building wavy?? Is it a feature on the outside, or just the photo making it look like that?

I wish malls here were as beautiful as that...
