Dancing Mods

This post would probably be more accurately titled 'Pictures of people in the sixties dancing and looking awesome'. Because I just love looking at pictures of people in the sixties dancing and looking awesome. I hope you do too.

Oh yeah, I also love The Who.

All of these photos come from the Dancing Mods Tumblr... which I actually made myself a few years ago, before I realised how time consuming tumblr is! I did leave it online though, and there is a button to submit so if you come across any pictures that fit in, send 'em in!

Movie Inspiration: Quadrophenia

Quadrophenia, based on The Who's album of the same name, is about the conflicts between mods and rockers in the mid-sixties. It's one of my favourite movies (probably the only one of my favourites that doesn't end with a song, dance and/or wedding - yes, I'm that type of movie fan). There's some nice fashion in it, as well as some great dancing mod scenes - so I had to make some more gifs!

Dance like a Mod

I've been playing around with making some gifs in Photoshop because I found all these great photos of mods dancing in Richard Barnes 1979 book, 'Mods!'

Some work better than others...

This one didn't work very well but it's THE WHO so I had to include it!

I used this tutorial to figure out how to make the gifs, it's very easy! The hard part is getting them into a blogger post, and for that I used this tutorial.
